Redeemer is a teaching/preaching church, first and foremost committed to the Bible, and a firm belief in its authority over our lives. All of our ministries are intended to increase the knowledge and application of God's Word in the lives of His people and lead others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ so that they can live to the glory of God.

History of Redeemer
Redeemer Evangelical Church formed in September of 2003 at the request of people who wanted Jimmy and Charles to continue their ministry after retiring from Central Church. We started with a few Charter Members and in 7 years have grown to an active membership of over 500. Redeemer is committed to historic evangelical faith, but is also tuned-in to the mind of the post-modern world.

Dr. James M. Latimer, Senior Pastor
Dr. Jimmy Latimer became Pastor of Redeemer after 40 years as Senior Pastor of Central Church. Much of his life has been dedicated to service and leadership in the church and community. At various times during his pastorate, he has served as the President of Crichton College; a board member of Calvary Rescue Mission; Founder & Chairman of the Board of Kirby Pines Retirement Community; board member of MIFA; he was also instrumental in the founding of the Church Health Center in Memphis and in the reorganization of Evangelical Christian School in 1974. He was formerly the FBI Chaplain for West Tennessee and is currently a Trustee of Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee.
